Our Teachers

Principal: Angela Power

Angela holds an honours B.Ed degree from St Patrick's College, and a Masters in Education from Trinity College, Dublin. She also holds a post graduate diploma in Special Education.

Angela has been working in St Oliver Plunkett since 1996 and became Principal in 2005. She found spelling and learning tables very difficult when she was in school and she still makes mistakes. Her hobbies are writing, reading, walking, learning Spanish, music and supporting Cork hurling.

Room 1 - Mrs Donna Mc Donagh

Welcome to room 1. We are the senior class at St Oliver Plunkett N.S.; Our Class is made up of 5th class and 6th class. There are seven boys and two girls in our class both of the girls are in 5th class.

Room 2 - Mrs Dorothy Murphy

We do Wilson every day. It helps you to read properly. We do tapping, you learn more words that you didn't know, we make words on the magnet board and we do dictation. We learn spelling rhymes and we do silent reading.

Room 3 - Ms Julie Collins

Welcome to our creative classroom. We have 9 students in Room 3, 6 boys and 3 girls. Each student is unique in his/her own way with their own special interests and talents.

In this class we focus on the Wilson programme from Monday - Thursday, for two hours each day. Math's is taught for an hour each day from Monday - Thursday, the SESE subjects and Art are taught in the afternoons. read more...

Room 5 - Ms Aileen Hooper

My name is Aileen Hooper. Im lucky enough to come from the real capital of Ireland, Co. Cork! My teacher training was completed at Froebel College, Sian Hill Dublin. I started my teaching career in Darndale Senior School, Dublin 17, after 6 years teaching there, I went on a career break for 5 years.

Room 6 - Mrs Sandra Murray

Hi! I have taught here in St. Oliver Plunkett for about the last ten years. My name is Sandra Murray. I love teaching children of any age, especially children who can't read – at least, not yet! I bring you my skills and my experience and the determination to make this a success!
