Scoilnet
St. Oliver Plunkett N.S. was established in 1975. It is one of four special schools in the Irish Republic, which caters exclusively for children with specific reading difficulties. (Dyslexia).
The school is funded by the Department of Education & Science and has a Board of Management and a Parent's Association.
The objective of St. Oliver Plunkett N.S. is to provide a full time special educational setting. Children work intensively for a period of up to two years after which it is expected that they will be able to cope with the ordinary demands of mainstream education.
Every effort is made to provide a warm, caring atmosphere in which each child is treated as a unique individual with their own special talents developing their self-confidence.
The teacher-pupil ratio is 9:1 allowing for individual programmes tailored to meet each child's specific learning needs.
We hope your child will enjoy their time with us.
