We have music class every Friday. Ms Soraghan, our music teacher, is teaching us about instruments, types of music and sound.
Each Friday the whole school has a swimming lesson in Monkstown Swimming Pool. As swimming is part of our P.E. programme all children are expected to take part in swimming lessons. At the end of each term we hold a swimming gala and the children receive merit badges.
Each classroom has a new computer.
We had book illustrator and author, Alan Nolan, working with us. He showed us how to draw cartoon characters!
Our school won the Green Flag! We earned this by recycling, keeping our school and yard tidy and composting.
Every week we have a puzzle to figure out and then we discuss it at assembly. Here is an example of one of the questions.
What has cities without houses, woods without trees and rivers without water?
The Student Council meets every Friday and do very valuable work. We consider the Student Council to be an authentic voice in the management of the school and their concern are regularly raised at staff meetings.
Each class is responsible for learning about an artist and sharing their findings with the whole school at assembly. They tell about the life of an artist and make art pieces that copy the artists work.
The Sam Maguire cup and some of the Dublin team will be visiting us in the next few weeks.
